Who doesn’t become fascinated by the ancient egyptians and their traditions, especially the mummified bodies of their highly regarded pharaos? Sarkofag tries to satisfy this curiosity by bringing the user inside the tomb and gives them the ability to explore at their own leisure (without compromizing the conservation of the subject). A 3D model of a mummy is placed within a multi-faced tracking target and by using the camera in a mobile phone the model can be inserted into real world coordinates and observed through a hole in the outer sarcophagus. Different layers can be selected to study more closely or alternatively a slicing mode can be activated to carve freely into all layers simultaneously.

Nominated in the C Awards in 2017.
